County faces vaccine rollout challenges

Adams County is facing a significant challenge in its efforts to rollout a consistent vaccination effort, it was reported at the Feb 8 Health & Human Services Committee meeting. Low allocations from the State of the critical vaccine are largely the issue. At one point, when 600 doses were requested, only 100 were sent.

 City amends COVID-19 Plan

The City of Adams City Council amended its COVID-19 Plan on Feb. 1. By unanimous vote, the Council amended the plan to account for the expiration of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) which included provisions relating to emergency leave for city employees.

County Board hears vaccine update, passes 9 ordinances

Vaccinations for people age 65 and older begin in Adams County starting Jan 27, it was announced at that Jan 19 County Board of Supervisors meeting.  The first program to inoculate seniors 65 and older will be held at the Town of Rome Fire Station from 10:00 AM till Noon. Vaccine recipients will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis.
