Several annual events in Adams County are cancelled for the 2020 holiday season:
•Visit with Santa at the Niebull Schoolhouse in Friendship has been cancelled.
•Annual Holiday Happenings at the St. Joseph’s Center has been cancelled.
•Annual Parade of Trees at Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics has been cancelled.

The Planning & Zoning Committee, with a list of 13 rezone and conditional use permit (CUP) requests, reviewed a wide variety of requests ranging from the traditional desire to add a home, to building upscale camping sites to allowing a new sand mining operation. Three of the requests were tabled for future consideration.

To begin developing schematic designs and acquire land for the next three phases of construction proposed for county administration facilities, the Ad Hoc Building Committee advanced a resolution committing $240,000 to the effort at its Oct. 30 meeting.
Of the $240,000, $40,000 will be set aside for land acquisition.
