Modified pitch softball returned to Grand Marsh this year for the annual Labor Day Tournament at Patricks Lake Park. The Cross Country team had a great meet at Mosinee last week with everyone earning a season PR! Lucy Little Soldier and Megan Craig had the best improvements, taking 4:47 off of their previous 5K times! Kennedy Webb led the girls with a 23rd place finish. Joseph Bokota was the only Green Devil boy to compete as he placed 34th.
The Adams-Friendship Green Devils Football team earned their first win of the season on Friday in the South Central Conference opener. The Green Devils opened up the scoring on a pass play from Aiden Livingston to Wyatt Pollex for a 6-0 lead.
There were not any team scores registered for the Adams-Friendship Cross Country team as they are unable to field a full squad during the early stages of the season. However, a few runners made an impact in the first race of the season. Junior, Kennedy Webb placed 14th overall and received a medal in her first race of the year.
The Adams-Friendship Varsity Boys Soccer Team traveled to Berlin on Saturday, August 28th for an eight team tournament. With just 12 players suited up due to a couple of players missing, the team was shorthanded throughout the day.
As one of the younger programs in Adams-Friendship High School Athletics, the boys soccer program has been trying to build itself into a competitor on the field. After not winning a match in 2019, the team made some strides a year ago by winning one last fall and nearly pulling out a couple of more victories in close defeats.
Although the numbers currently do not warrant having a full team, the Adams-Friendship Cross Country Team is looking forward to seeing some individual breakout performances this fall. Last year, the girls team finished in 5th place in the South Central Conference led by 2nd Team All Conference runner Aaron David.
This Friday night, the Adams-Friendship Football team will be wearing something extra on their football helmets against Portage. The team will be wearing a sticker on the back of the helmet to honor a former team member of the program who passed away last fall.
