Mid-State Technical College held a special December 15 ceremony on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus to recognize the efforts of 21 students who completed training through its Criminal Justice - Law Enforcement 720 Academy, which provides the basic law enforcement training required to become a law enforcement officer in Wisconsin.

Fiber Optic Internet service will be coming to the Town of Adams and parts of Quincy, it was announced earlier this month. With the help of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, state support, town ARPA funds, and funding from Marquette Adams Telephone Cooperative, the project will begin in 2022 and be completed in 2023.
The local Fire District held its bi-monthly meeting at the Adams Fire Station on 12/9/2021. All town/village/city members were in attendance except Easton. A copy of the 10/14/2021 meeting minutes was made available to those attending.
Mark De Valk, age 53, of Milwaukee, was sentenced for possessing a firearm while a felon on December 8 in Adams County Court. De Valk was convicted of his fourth OWI in 2012 and was out on bond for a 2020 charge in Adams County for intentionally subjecting an individual at risk to harm, at the time of arrest.
The Adams County Drug-Free Task Force met using Zoom on November 17, 2021. The meeting was attended by representatives from Adams County, Juneau County, and various local agencies. The first item discussed was the health coping options open to Adams County residents.
James Siegert was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the death of Mackenzie Matrick from a fentanyl overdose in 2018. Siegert, age 37, of Adams, was convicted by a jury on three counts on July 23 including first degree reckless homicide. Matrick was 21 at the time of her death.
