Lottery Credit Awareness Week

The Adams County Treasurer’s Office is dedicating the week of May 16-22, 2021, as Lottery Credit Awareness Week to verify that all eligible Real Property Owners received the lottery credit on their 2017 tax bills. Last year the lottery credit ranged from $114.08- $176.97 in Adams County.

Wisconsin Dells man charged with theft in asphalt paving operation

A criminal complaint has been filed against George Young for failing to complete a contract to pave a driveway in the Town of Springville. According to other news sources, including NBC 15 Investigates, this complaint was not the first.

Adams woman sentenced for resisting arrest and battery

Amber Gitzlaff, age 33, of Adams, appeared in Adams County Court on April 27 facing four counts including resisting arrest, throwing or discharging bodily fluids at law enforcement, disorderly conduct and battery. Gitzlaff was already on bond for two previous drug-related offenses.

Man facing 24 counts sentenced to 2 years in prison

Justin Sonnenberg, age 32, appeared in Adams County Court on Apr. 21 facing 24 counts including strangulation, possession of THC, false imprisonment, battery, disorderly conduct, and several bail jumping charges. Sonnenberg was already on bond for prior offenses in Dane County.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office Drug Take Back Event

Since the last Drug Take Back Event in October 2020, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office has collected 148.5 pounds of unwanted medications that community members properly disposed of. The Town of Rome Police Department also collected 50.5 pounds of medications.

Man involved in theft of guns sentenced to prison

Adam A.F. Brown, age 29, appeared in Adams County Court on Mar. 30 facing charges of theft of movable property and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. Brown is currently serving a four year prison sentence for burglary in Waushara County.

Man sentenced to 3 years in prison for trying to strangle girlfriend

Jason Taufner, age 45, appeared in Adams County Court on Mar. 31 facing three counts including, strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct. Taufner is currently serving out a sentence in the Green Bay Correctional Institution for a 2007 incident in Racine County.

Asphalt paving in the Town of Rome

Starting Monday, April 12th, American Asphalt will be completing a series of pavement projects in the Town of Rome.  The asphaltic pavement projects will start on Fiesta Drive and move around the Town of Rom including the following streets-Akron Drive, Archer Lane, Bromley Way, Bromley Court, Lions Tail, Pine Drive and Oak Drive.  Weather permit
