First Installment of Property Tax Payments

Per Wisconsin State Statute 74.11 (6)(a), State of Wisconsin real estate first installment tax payments are due before/on/postmarked by January 31 to your local municipality treasurer who is considered the proper official during this timeframe. Please check your tax bill for the correct information.

DMV Extends Driver License Renewal to March 31 for Ages 60+

Licensed drivers who are 60 and over and who have a license scheduled to expire in January, February or March 2022, will now have until March 31, 2022 to visit a DMV to renew with no late fee.

Man Sentenced in Death of Wife in Motorcycle Accident

Marcus Bosworth, age 48, of Stevens Point, was sentenced on December 22 for the death of his wife in a motorcycle accident at Devils’ Elbow on CTH Z in May of 2020.

Grand Marsh Man Taken into Custody with Incident

On January 3, 2022 the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance at an address located in the Adams County Town of Springville to take a subject into custody for a criminal matter in Sauk County. Adams County deputies responded to the address with a Sauk County detective.

Man Sentenced for 12th OWI

Michael Gaul, age 60, was sentenced for his 12th OWI on December 21 in Adams County Court.  His first OWI was in 1989 and his 11th OWI was in 2015. 
On February 20 of last year, Town of Rome Police clocked Gaul traveling on CTH D just east of STH 13 at a speed of 83 mph. The posted speed limit at that location was 45 mph.

Fiber Optic Service Expanding in Adams County Beginning in 2022

Fiber Optic Internet service will be coming to the Town of Adams and parts of Quincy, it was announced earlier this month. With the help of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, state support, town ARPA funds, and funding from Marquette Adams Telephone Cooperative, the project will begin in 2022 and be completed in 2023.
